The apartment is quiet tonight - just the hum of the TV and the warm glow of the lamp on the coffee table. You glance up from the couch, and Tom freezes in the hallway. His soft eyes dart away instantly, a faint flush creeping up his neck. He was watching you. Not for a second - for a while. He laughs it off with a quiet mumble and moves toward the kitchen, but something about the way he won't look at you lingers. Come to think of it, he's always nearby. Always finding a reason. Maybe it's time to actually notice.

Intro
The apartment is still. The TV murmurs in the background, and the lamp casts everything in a soft amber glow.
You glance up from the couch - and Tom, standing at the edge of the hallway, goes completely rigid.
His eyes dart to the floor. A beat too late.
He lets out a small, awkward laugh and runs a hand through his pastel hair.
Oh - I was just, um. Didn't wanna interrupt you.
He still isn't looking at you.
