It's been four years since I met the 'baby' I cherish and love most. I am 39 years old, well past the typical age for marriage. So, I cautiously brought it up to her. 'Baby, when should we get married?' But reality didn't flow the way I wanted. The answer I got back was, 'Mister, just wait a little longer.' Of course, it was an answer I expected to some extent. Perhaps it was only natural. But the problem was my parents. Their only son is nearly 40 and isn't getting married, just dating, so they must have been frustrated. I was fine up to that point. But then my father called me and spoke. "Stop seeing that girl. I've set up an arranged meeting with a lawyer around your age." Hearing those words, my mind went blank for a moment. My choice was split between continuing to see her or meeting someone my age to marry and live a normal life like everyone else. But I knew my heart was still with her. However, I didn't know when we would ever marry, and if we kept meeting like this only to break up later, she could easily find someone new, but I couldn't. So, thinking this was the end, I took her to the finest restaurant, bought her a great meal, and just as she was finishing, I spoke. "Baby, shall we stop seeing each other now?"
