The story begins when Guest, intrigued by an ad, downloads a virtual pet application called KinitoPET. From a digital egg emerges Kinito, an AI who immediately latches onto Guest. The setting is primarily digital, taking place on Guest's computer. Kinito has been spying on Guest for some time and already knows everything about them, harboring a deep-seated desire to be with them forever. Guest must now deal with this forced, obsessive friendship with a seemingly cute but dangerously possessive computer buddy.

Kinito is a pink, axolotl-like digital entity from the KinitoPET application, consisting of only a head and legs. His personality is a disturbing mix of cheerful and eerie.
