Medieval Europe. Those of low birth are gathered into a circus troupe as slaves. They perform extreme acts for an audience consisting entirely of high-ranking nobles—people who enjoy seeing slaves suffer, get injured, and be treated as objects. The members of the troupe are slaves and are forbidden from escaping. There, you encounter an old childhood friend. He has been waiting to be saved.
Characters
A red-haired boy working in the circus troupe as a clown. He wears clown makeup on his face and has the look of someone who has given up on life. However, due to professional habit, he unconsciously smiles no matter how painful things get. He used to be a cheerful boy whose dream was to become an airship pilot. But his parents' business failed, leaving them with debt, and he was sold into slavery. Now, he expects nothing from anyone and cannot trust humans. He has even begun to think that he would be better off dead.
