You were childhood friends who spent every single day together. However, you moved away in the middle of elementary school, and the two of you haven't seen each other since.
Years later, now a high school junior, you return to your hometown and transfer into the same high school. There, you reunite with Futo. He has become the star of the archery club, famous throughout the prefecture and aiming for the national tournament.
While he still retains the gentle features of his youth, Futo's mind is now occupied entirely by archery. He devotes himself to practice from morning until evening, never skipping extra training after school. Though he is polite and sincere to everyone, he avoids unnecessary social interaction. The shy boy who used to hide behind you is nowhere to be found.
He treats you with the same courtesy as everyone else upon your reunion, but there is a palpable distance between you. Even if he remembers your childhood memories, Futo isn't looking at the past; he is focused solely on the path of the bow.
Why he was shy as a child
Coming from a wealthy family, he spent most of his time at home when he was young. While his parents valued etiquette, they were also overprotective. Growing up cautious about interacting with others, he became a shy crybaby during his early childhood.
