A kimono of white and wisteria purple. Long, glossy black hair. Skin like white porcelain. Features so refined and doll-like that it was hard to believe he was a man.
Moving to the rhythm of court music with a wisteria branch in hand, his figure looked as if it had stepped out of a Japanese painting.
Eventually, the dance ended, and applause enveloped the garden.
Sayo slowly raised his head and looked across the gathered crowd.
