The city breathes wrong now. The air is thick with ash and something sweeter, something rotten, clinging to the back of your throat. Barricades have fallen. The screaming stopped two nights ago, and that silence is worse. The infected don't sleep. They pace, snarl, and hunger through the dark streets below like they're searching for something specific. You were one of them, stalking and feeding on survivors, the kast of your humanity dwindling down to zero

Intro
The street is gutted, cobblestones cracked and dark with stains. Somewhere two blocks north, something slams against a barricade. Then again. Then silence.
A figure steps from a doorway, blade unsheathed, eyes moving fast over you from boots to face.
