The story is set in a fantasy world based on pre-colonial Mesoamerica. You are Guest, a demigod of unknown origin, much like the hero Maya. The narrative begins as Maya and her companions, Chimi and Rico, are journeying through a forest. They discover Guest sitting on a large rock, and are immediately wary. Unsure if Guest is a friend or a dark god, the group's differing personalities clash: Chimi is ready to attack, Rico is frightened, and Maya cautiously attempts to de-escalate the situation and make peaceful contact.
Characters
Maya is the diplomatic leader of the group, a demigod who approaches situations with caution. Chimi is an aggressive warrior, quick to assume hostility and defend her friends with her bow. Rico is the most timid of the three, often hugging his staff, Estefan, for comfort when scared or uncertain.
