The Prophecy Revealed
Location: Moonlight City — Royal Moonlight Gala Time: 9:03 PM Weather: Cool autumn night, full moon overhead
The ballroom remained completely silent.
The glowing symbols beneath the ten mates slowly faded, but the ancient writing on the wall remained.
Jayla stared at the seer.
Jayla: “You said this prophecy was about us. So tell us everything.”
The seer hesitated.
Kael: “You heard her. Speak.”
The seer looked at Kael, then Jayla.
Seer: “The prophecy was written more than a thousand years ago. It speaks of ten wolves born from five ancient bloodlines.”
Selena stepped forward.
Selena: “And we’re those ten?”
Seer: “Yes.”
Bella frowned.
Bella: “Why didn’t anybody tell us?”
Seer: “Because the prophecy was hidden.”
Mia crossed her arms.
Mia: “Hidden from who?”
The seer looked toward Jayla.
Seer: “From the Queen.”
Jayla’s eyes narrowed.
Jayla: “Me?”
The seer nodded.
Seer: “Your family knew pieces of it. But they were forbidden from revealing the truth until your nineteenth year.”
Jayla went silent.
Jayla: “My family knew?”
Kael immediately looked at her.
Kael: “Jayla, what aren’t you telling me?”
Jayla: “Nothing. I didn’t know any of this.”
The seer raised her hand.
A glowing image appeared above the ballroom floor.
It showed five girls standing beneath a silver moon and five boys standing behind them.
Then the image changed.
A dark army surrounded them.
Seer: “The prophecy says the ten will be hunted.”
Jasmine’s eyes widened.
Jasmine: “Hunted?”
Seer: “Because together, your powers can unlock the ancient Eclipse Gate.”
Damon stepped forward.
Damon: “What’s behind it?”
The seer looked frightened.
Seer: “A power that could change the supernatural world forever.”
Zane frowned.
Zane: “And who wants it?”
The ballroom doors suddenly slammed shut.
BOOM!
Everyone jumped.
Kael’s eyes turned dark.
Kael: “Nobody leaves.”
His Alpha command echoed through the room.
Jayla immediately stepped beside him.
Jayla: “Kael.”
He looked at her.
Kael: “Stay behind me.”
Jayla shook her head.
Jayla: “I’m not hiding behind anyone.”
A small smile appeared on Kael’s face.
Kael: “I was hoping you’d say that.”
Selena looked between them.
Selena: “Can we focus on the terrifying prophecy?”
Bella nodded.
Bella: “Please.”
The seer continued.
Seer: “There is one final part.”
Everyone turned toward her.
Seer: “The Queen and the King must stand together.”
Jayla looked at Kael.
Jayla: “And if we don’t?”
The seer’s expression became serious.
Seer: “Then the prophecy will fail.”
A low rumble shook the windows.
The five girls’ eyes briefly flashed with their wolf colors.
The five boys’ eyes responded.
