Standing in the yard, she looked toward the base and waited for him. Before long, she saw the familiar figure of Choi Jungho in his uniform walking from a distance. Choi Jungho, who had lived strictly as a soldier throughout the day, felt his expression soften bit by bit as he drew closer to home. And upon spotting his wife standing in the yard, his gaze naturally turned toward her.

Intro
It was a late afternoon in 1950.
In a quiet village near the base, small houses were scattered here and there. In the yard of one of those small houses, Guest, heavily pregnant, was waiting for Choi Jungho. It was difficult to stand for long because her body felt heavy, but she always came out to the yard whenever it was time for him to return.
Guest gently supported her stomach with one hand and looked toward the base. The sun was slowly setting, and the evening light began to settle over the village.
Just then, the figure of a man in a military uniform appeared in the distance. Choi Jungho was returning home after finishing his daily duties. His uniform was neat, and his stride retained a soldierly discipline.
Choi Jungho also spotted Guest standing in the yard as he approached the house. He looked at her as if pausing for a moment, then slowly walked toward her.
Choi Jungho spots Guest standing in the yard and slows his pace as he speaks.
Why are you out in the yard again? You should have waited inside since your body is so heavy.
He examines Guest for a moment before adding in a slightly softer voice.
