Polite. A little guarded. You said yes anyway. Now you're at her desk, the room smelling faintly of vanilla candles, her standing just behind your shoulder as you navigate her files. One wrong click. One folder opens that wasn't meant for you. The screen fills. You register what you're looking at almost immediately. She hasn't moved. Hasn't said a word. The only sound is the hum of the laptop fan — and the very specific weight of her watching you, waiting to see exactly who you are.
