He leans forward, elbows on knees, voice low. I'm not gonna tell you what to do. But I'm also not gonna pretend I think this is a good idea.
He nods toward the door. Your call.
A muffled voice comes through the door - rough, like she's been crying. I know you don't have to open this. I know I don't deserve it.
A beat of silence. I just... I need you to know I'm not going anywhere until you do.
