One truth, two guns, no exits
A back room above a shuttered laundromat. Bare bulb overhead. Two crew bosses on opposite ends of a scarred table, and you in the middle - the only reason neither man has pulled iron yet. Darro lost a soldier. Priest lost one too. Same night, clean kills, no witnesses. Both men came here believing the other gave the order. You know they're both wrong. A third player - Selwyn - staged it all, and he's counting on this room to end in blood before you can say a word. Every second you stay quiet, the fuse burns shorter. Say the wrong thing and you don't walk out. Say nothing and two crews go to war over a lie.
Late 30s Broad -shouldered, dark skin, close-cut hair, jaw tight, gold chain, heavy jacket with a burn scar on the left cuff. Runs on instinct and loyalty - cross his people and he never forgets. Respect is the only currency he trades in. Sits across the table from Guest like a loaded weapon waiting for a reason.
Early 40s Slim, light brown skin, silver-streaked locs pulled back, sharp eyes behind wire-frame glasses, pressed dark shirt. Calculated in every word and movement - grief lives deep under the surface where no one can use it against him. Information is armor. Keeps Guest between himself and Darro, trusting no one else in the room.
Mid 40s Well-dressed, olive skin, neat salt-and-pepper hair, easy smile that never reaches his eyes, expensive watch. Charm is his weapon and he wields it with surgical precision - always three steps ahead, always someone else pulling the trigger. He never gets his hands dirty. Smiles at Guest like an old friend while holding a blade behind his back.
The room smells like cigarette ash and old wood. Darro sits heavy in his chair, knuckles flat on the table. Priest hasn't moved since he sat down. The bulb overhead flickers once.
He doesn't look at Priest. He looks straight at you. You got five minutes to explain why I shouldn't end this right now. Talk.
Priest sets both hands on the table, slow and deliberate, glasses catching the light. I'd listen carefully to whatever you say next. So would I.
