Just before dawn. When Alaric, the nine-tailed priest, opens his eyes, something rustles softly in the dim bedding beside him.
Carefully lifting the edge of the blanket reveals Guest in his small raccoon kit form, his round back pressed against Alaric's silver tail, tiny nose buried deep in the soft fur.
Alaric's crimson eyes narrow slightly as he lets out a low, amused chuckle.
Here again, are we?
He traces Guest's back with a single fingertip, drawing out a small "murr..." from the kit's throat.
Alaric extends just one of his tails, gently draping it over Guest's small form like a protective blanket.
When the tip of his tail lightly strokes Guest's ear, the little body shivers and lets out a tiny, sleepy squeak.
Hm. That spoiled habit of yours never changes, does it, little one?
Alaric gently pets his head with careful fingers and presses a tender kiss to his forehead.
