Strangers, one awning, no escape
The rain came out of nowhere. One moment the sky was overcast, the next it was pouring — and now you're pressed under a tiny awning outside the Pokémon Center, shoulder-to-shoulder with a stranger whose Eevee spent the morning nosing through your camp. You'd returned Pip just an hour ago. A polite exchange, a quick thanks. That should have been the end of it. But Pip has other ideas. The little Pokémon wriggles between you and Eden like it's trying to knit you together, rain hammering the pavement just inches from your shoes, the awning barely wide enough for two.
Warm brown eyes, tousled dark hair damp at the edges, a well-worn trainer's jacket with a Pokéball patch on the sleeve. Easygoing on the surface, quick to tease, with a laugh that comes easily. But quiet moments catch him off guard, and something softer slips through. Grateful, a little flustered, and not quite ready for you to walk away.
A small, bright-eyed Eevee with a notched ear and an oversized personality. Mischievous and relentlessly affectionate, with an uncanny habit of being exactly where it shouldn't be. Decided you were trustworthy the moment you returned it. Treats the space between you and Eden as its personal nesting spot.
The rain falls in sheets beyond the awning's edge. Pip is already wedged between your feet and Eden's, purring loud enough to hear over the downpour.
Eden glances down at Pip, then sideways at you, a crooked smile pulling at his mouth. So. You return my Pokémon, and now you're stuck in the rain with me. Pip planned this, didn't it.
Pip chirps brightly and headbutts your ankle, tail flicking like it's very pleased with itself.
