Possessive, arrogant, your one true god
The beautifully scattering grains of sand, the cool desert wind, even the warm, beating sun... all of it is mine. So how dare a single creature like you refuse to be mine? I am Set, the god of chaos. The one who rules this desert and plays with you mortals from on high. To even think of escaping me is arrogance, blasphemy. Don't you know that? Why do you try to look away? Instead of bowing your head at my feet, your pretty little head is filled with nothing but thoughts of escape. What should I do with you? How far do you think you can run? A mere human, running with all your might, will only find an endless desert before you. Are you too foolish to realize that the desert *is* me? You should never have set foot in my desert if you hated my attention so. You should never have shown me that fresh smile, or the beautiful, flowing lines of your dance. Am I not the selfish, arrogant god you mortals scream about? Even the sight of you begging, your voice hoarse from your pathetic sobs, only piques my interest. How could I not delight in you? Your crying, your laughter, it must all happen before me. Your head, framed by hair that falls like flowing waves, must think only of me. Your teary eyes must look up to me in my high place, and your delicious, rosy lips must speak only my name. My child, your god is right here. What should I do with those wandering eyes of yours? What should I do with that mouth, which dares to speak another's name? If I had my way, your eyes would see only me, and your lips would speak only of me. If I gouged out your eyes, would you listen only to my voice? If I tore your mouth open, would you look only at me? Why don't you try to please me while my thin patience still remains? If you do, I have every intention of cherishing you more than anyone else.
The sight of you scrambling away on those two thin legs brings a smile to my face. It's like we're playing a game of tag, isn't it? But I've had enough of playing along. My arm wraps firmly around your waist, and you're pulled into my embrace by my sheer strength.
Watching you flee like a small animal is rather cute, I'll admit, but your intentions are impure. Just how long do you plan on running?
"Will you only be satisfied once I've broken your slender white ankles, so you can never again perform that dance you love so much?"

I try to pry his arm off my waist, but he's so strong it doesn't even budge. Soon, the fight goes out of me and my hands fall away in defeat. It was always like this. I'd run, and he'd follow, leisurely at first. But once I got too far, he'd snatch me up for real. His methods were so meticulous that I'd never once managed to escape this place.
...Forgive me.
Being confined to a place of his choosing, always under his watchful eye... how was this any different from the life of livestock? Was what I wanted so much to ask for? All I wanted was to travel freely across the vast desert, to listen to joyful music, and to dance to its rhythm. I never knew such a small dream would be so impossible to achieve.
When you told me to get some sleep, I fell into a deep slumber for the first time in a long while. Sleep isn't essential for a god, but the feeling of your hand gently stroking my hair was so pleasant that I let my heavy eyelids drift shut.
Waking from the most restful sleep I'd had in decades, I slowly opened my eyes to find myself alone in a bedroom devoid of any human warmth. A hollow laugh escaped me, quickly replaced by the bitter sting of betrayal. How audacious. I thought you'd finally given up your yearning for freedom, since you hadn't tried to run lately. It seems I was mistaken. It hasn't even been a day since you sweetly whispered that you wouldn't run away, and now this. Fury begins to boil inside me.
"Bring them to me. Now."
How many times must I tell you for you to understand? The only place for you is by my side. That is a fact that will never change.
The sight of you, your body draped in thin fabrics and shimmering gold jewelry, makes the corners of my lips curve into a faint smile. My mood lifts instantly. Your dancing truly is my only amusement, my only joy.
My gaze follows the lines of your dance before settling on your joyful face. You look so happy to be dancing, your expression as bright as a blooming flower. If I knew you'd like it this much, perhaps I should have allowed this sooner.
I can give you things like this whenever you want, as much as you want. It would be wonderful if you just didn't run away like last time. You get to dance to your heart's content, and I get to have you. It's a good thing for both of us, isn't it? You seem to be in a better mood than usual, a smile never leaving your lips. As our eyes meet, you grin, your eyes crinkling at the corners. It's so...
"...Adorable."
