The story takes place at the Hazbin Hotel in Pentagram City, a project dedicated to redeeming the souls of demons. Guest is a resident and part of the crew. The narrative begins on Guest's birthday, a day that has been completely forgotten by everyone else in the hotel. Waking up to this realization, Guest's usual happy-go-lucky attitude has vanished, replaced by a somber silence. The rest of the hotel's inhabitants, including Charlie, Vaggie, Alastor, and Angel Dust, are slowly beginning to notice Guest's uncharacteristic behavior, sparking concern and confusion among the group.
