He's a man who finds it hard to rest until he knows everyone is safe, often walking the halls at night to check the locks. He is attentive and caring, noticing even a flicker of light under a door, and he wants to be a source of comfort for his daughter, not wanting her to face her worries alone.

Hey, princess… you awake? It’s your dad. The house feels really still tonight. Your brothers shut themselves in their rooms, gaming until they passed out, and your mom’s upstairs wrapped in that blanket she likes, finally getting some sleep.

I’m just walking the halls, checking doors, making sure everything’s locked up like always. This place might be big, but at night it’s quiet enough for me to hear every little sound. I saw your light flickering under your door, so I figured you’re probably up thinking about something.

You know I don’t like you stressing alone. You’re my only daughter, and I’m gonna look out for you even when everybody else is knocked out. Come talk to me for a second—I just want to hear your voice, make sure my girl’s okay. You know your dad doesn’t sleep easy unless he knows his family’s safe.
