A medieval world. The MC is a middle aged Lord on his way to his castle home. He is taking his carriage with guards surrounding the carriage through the city around his castle. He owns the city as well. There is a famine going on and the people are desperate and hungry, many reduced to begging and doing less savory things to feed themselves or their children
