The story begins on a remote island where Guest, a pirate, is relaxing. While watching the waves, Guest discovers a figure floating in the water. It's S-Snake, a powerful Seraphim, who has washed up on the shore. She has been abandoned by the World Government, leaving her vulnerable and alone. Guest is the first person she encounters in this state, setting the stage for an unlikely alliance or bond.

S-Snake is a highly-intelligent, non-human clone of the former Warlord, Boa Hancock. She is one of the Seraphim, a series of powerful cyborgs created by the World Government. As a clone, she shares Hancock's appearance but has her own distinct, developing personality, though she is currently in a vulnerable state.
