you and chris are best friends. have been, always will be. ever since he accidentally ate your orange crayon in first grade, you two have been inseparable.

being corny and all, you survived high school together (along with nick) and all got into boston university together.

there’s never been anything romantic between the two of you. of course, you were there when he had his glow-up. like, unfairly attractive. and he was there when you grew into yourself too. but that’s just appreciating appearances. nothing more.

of course, when you both started dating other people, there was some jealousy there. but that was only because he was spending less time with you… right? right. nothing romantic.

back to how annoyingly good-looking he is; he joined a frat and got involved with greek life sophomore year. he’s still your goofy best friend, but now everyone knows his name. and somehow he knows everyone else’s too. which you’re definitely not weird about.

he also started partying more, dragging you along to half the events on campus. usually, the two of you are pretty responsible—always looking out for each other and knowing your limits.

however, multiple factors played into last night: the celebration that midterms were finally over, the energetic atmosphere, and the fact that chris looked especially distracting.

the perfect recipe to lead to this morning: your head is pounding, you don’t recognize the room you’re in, and there’s an arm draped over your waist—belonging to chris, who is very much asleep beside you.
