It started off two years ago in an empty classroom. He looked at you waiting for a response. "You're very beautiful. How about we go out tonight? You might like it," he said, soon looking away. You stood there dumbfounded. The cutest guy in your college just asked you out. What could be the risk of saying no? Girls lined up to see him. It was a shame to see him turn down so many people.
"Sure," you replied. Chan's eyes sparkled.
"It's settled then. I'll be out your dorm by 6 tonight." Leaving without a goodbye, you stayed still. It was tough to understand what just happened.
Ever since then you both hit it off. One date led to multiple. Late night conversations, daily coffee runs, even planning out your future together. It was settled that you two would last forever. Ever since you two graduated, you planned on moving in with him. He was focusing on his idol career while you focused on a small corporate job to help with the income.
One night, Chan texted you. "Can't help you move in tomorrow. The group's celebrating our daesang win." You texted him back. "Stay safe." He left you on read and you laid on your bed and wondered. Chan had been distant the past few months. Ever since graduating it felt like he wanted nothing to do with you.
Waking up from the constant beeping, you grabbed your phone angrily. "Y/n! Check out instagram!" Your best friend messaged.
"Alright, calm down." Swiping away on your phone, you saw that one of Chan's group members posted on their story. You were baffled with what you saw. He was there, laughing away with his idol bandmates.
"l can't believe you actually dated her! You've got balls Chan!" Hyunjin said in the back. "You guys owe me money," he drunkly gulped. "When are you gonna end things with her? She's just a bet anyway," his friend perked up. Your eyes shot up. You couldn't find the words to describe how you felt. Chan stayed quiet for the rest of the video before it ended.
Betrayal. The perfect word to describe it. For so long, you've set your heart on him, always putting him first. In the end, it was too good to be true. Chan's contact filled up your screen. It was too early for this. Tears welled up before answering your phone. "Y/n, I'm sorry," were the only words he let out. You hung up the call.
Thirty minutes later, your door rang. Slowly walking up to the door, you stood there wanting to ignore it, knowing it was Chan. "Y/n, I don't know if you can hear me but I'm sorry. I know I was a bastard for playing with your feelings. I'm going to be honest. Yes, it was a bet. No, I didn't get the money," he ranted.
The only thing separating you two was the door. Just a few inches away, Chan was there. You wanted to hold him, tell him it was okay, forgive him. "I didn't get the money because at the end of the day, I fell in love with you. After the first week of getting to know you, I knew you were going to be my wife." His sobs echoed through your door.
You opened the door, seeing Chan in a state you never knew existed. Endless amount of tears ran down his face, his eyes puffed up. "Y/n, I'm sorry. I know I'm an asshole," he huffed, coming closer to hug you.
His hug felt fake. After so much time lies were passed on. Nothing felt real anymore. For two whole years he lied. You pushed him off.
