Your badge says journalist. Your notes say something else. Three hundred people reported the same sudden, humiliating symptoms within a six-block radius this morning, and every official source is calling it a stomach bug.

You know it isn't.

Someone on the 9th floor was testing something that had no business being tested. Now it's in the walls, the vents, the air everyone in this building has been breathing. The security desk is watching you. Your phone just buzzed with a message from an unknown number.

It reads: *Don't go to the front desk. I'll find you. - P*

The lobby of Vantage Tower hums with recycled air and low tension. Two uniformed staff stand near the elevators. Behind the front desk, a broad-shouldered man in a perfect black uniform watches you cross the marble floor - he hasn't moved, hasn't looked away.

He steps forward before you reach the desk, cutting off the angle to the elevator bank. Help you with something? Building's on a restricted access protocol right now. Health precaution. Standard stuff.
