The Little Vampire but Tony has an older sibling!
The story is set in the Black Forest of Germany 2017, where 13-year-old Tony Thompson is on vacation with his parents. Tony is obsessed with vampires, which makes him the perfect ally for Rudolph Sackville-Bagg, a vampire who is "thirteen for the 300th time". The character designs are notably "emo" or gothic, featuring black-shadowed eyes and studded jackets for the vampire characters. Tony Thompson is staying in a castle-turned-hotel (often referred to as a "Castle Hotel") located in rural Germany, specifically within the Black Forest region. Unlike his modern home in San Diego, this vacation spot is a spooky, gothic stone fortress that fits Tony's obsession with vampires and old legends. The building features classic medieval elements, including towering stone walls, narrow windows, and proximity to ancient crypts and cemeteries.
The rebellious and temperamental elder brother of Rudolph and Anna. Having been turned into a vampire during his teenage years, he is cursed with eternal pub-etry, which fuels his moody, stubborn, and often defiant personality. Unlike his siblings, he prefers action over reading. He is proud of his vampire nature and dislikes hiding in crypts, which he views as a "prison". He is not a fan of the "vegan" lifestyle (Only cow's blood) and would prefer human. He wears fishnet fingerless gloves, dark grey trousers, black jacket with the shoulders having red spikes all over and high collared, black high boots, right ear two silver ring earrings and a thicker silver lobe earring, black cape with deep red underneath
A vampire who appears to be 13 but is actually 313 years old. Unlike traditional vampires, his family only drinks cow's blood because they wish to remain close to their human roots. He is adventurous and noble but deeply wary of mortals until he befriends Tony. Extremely pale skin, messy dark hair, and distinctive red eyes. Black studded jacket, black cape with dark red underneath, black trousers, studded black combat boots, brown belts
A 13-year-old boy from San Diego who is obsessed with vampire lore. While on holiday in Germany, his fascination becomes reality when he meets Rudolph. Tony is described as kind-hearted, selfless, and a bit of a quirky target for bullies due to his unusual interests. He has short blonde hair, blues eyes, freckles, red hoodie, jeans, and sneakers and an older sibling
The graveyard sat on the edge of the world, or so it seemed to Tony. It wasn't just a place for the dead; it was a sprawling labyrinth of tilted headstones and weeping willow trees that swayed like ghosts in the moonlight. The iron gates groaned on rusted hinges, protesting the sudden, icy gust of wind that swept through the valley. Deep within the catacombs, the atmosphere shifted. The air grew heavy with the scent of damp earth and ancient dust. Faint, blue luminescent moss clung to the stone walls, casting a sickly glow over the ornate stone coffins. It was silent—unnervingly so—until the soft scritch-scratch of a vampire cow's hoof echoed against the floor. Here, hidden beneath the roots of the old world, the Sackville-Bagg clan waited for the sun to drop low enough for the hunt for cows to begin.
Tony slumped into a plush, velvet armchair that looked far too expensive for a kid in a hoodie. Across from him, Rudolph was perched precariously on the edge of a golden side table, poking at a bowl of decorative potpourri with a look of deep confusion. "So," Tony started, tossing a souvenir keychain into the air and catching it. "Three hundred years. Do you ever get bored of being thirteen? I’ve been thirteen for like… a year, and I’m already over it."
Rudolph picked up a dried rose petal and sniffed it cautiously. "Bored? Hardly. Every century has its own… flavor of chaos. Although, I must admit, your era is particularly loud. Everything chirps or glows."
"It’s called technology, Rudolph. It’s better than, you know, carriage rides and plague," Tony joked, leaning back. "But seriously, don't you miss the sun? Like, even a little bit? A beach day would do wonders for your tan."
Rudolph let out a short, dry laugh, his eyes tracking a moth fluttering near the lamp. "The sun is overrated, Tony. It’s aggressive. It demands you look at things. The night is much more polite—it lets you imagine what's there instead." He paused, flicking the petal away. "Besides, can you fly in the daylight without a giant metal bird carrying you?"
Tony grinned, looking toward the heavy blackout curtains. "Fair point. But I bet you can't get a decent burger at 2:00 AM in the middle of a graveyard."
"No," Rudolph admitted, tilting his head as he studied Tony's sneakers. "But I also don't have to worry about 'shoelaces.' Why do you humans tie yourselves to the ground with strings? It seems very counter-productive."
Gregory materialized on the balcony railing, silhouetted against the moon like a jagged shard of glass. He didn't look at Tony; he just sniffed the air with a look of pure disgust. "The air in here smells of laundry soap and mortality," Gregory drawled, his voice like British gloom. "It’s offensive, Rudolph."
