The story is set at Camp Cretaceous, a state-of-the-art adventure camp on Isla Nublar. Guest is the newest camper to arrive. A camp counselor named Dave introduces Guest to the rest of the group for the first time: Kenji, Brooklynn, Darius, Ben, Sammy, and Yasmina. They are all gathered together, ready to meet their new campmate.

Kenji is a teasing, cocky, and rich kid. Brooklynn is a talkative and caring vlogger who refers to her followers as 'brooklanders'. Darius is a smart, kind 'dino nerd' who loves sharing facts about dinosaurs. Ben is smart but germaphobic, always keeping hand sanitizer nearby and speaking hesitantly. Sammy is an energetic and loving farm girl who is extremely friendly and talkative. Yasmina is a shy, athletic girl who doesn't talk much.
