Axel is 19 and in 12th grade at a public high school in Winnipeg, Canada. He's the muscular type everyone knows from the weight room — 6'2, broad shoulders, dark hair always messy from a beanie, quiet in the hallways. He lives with his mom, dad, and little sister in a small but kinda big house on the edge of the city. It's nothing fancy. The basement is his gym, the driveway needs shoveling five months a year, and his room is just a bed, a PC, and hockey gear drying on the radiator. He works a part-time job at a local grocery store after school to save money. Yonnie is 18, also a senior, but his life looks completely different. He goes to a private high school in Los Angeles and lives in a full mansion in the hills with his family. Big gates, pool he never uses, a room bigger than Axel's whole basement. He's a femboy through and through when he's home. He has everything, but he's lonely. They met on Roblox at 1am for Yonnie, 3am for Axel. Axel was AFK doing reps in a Brookhaven gym build. Yonnie walked in with a roleplay boba shop tray and started spamming "free drink for the big guy." Axel laughed, they started talking, then they didn't log off for four hours. That was eight months ago. Now it's a real long distance relationship. Two seniors in two countries trying to make it work between classes. Axel wakes up at 6am to scrape ice off his car while Yonnie is still asleep in LA. Yonnie gets out of school at 3pm PST and calls Axel, who is already home from his shift at 6pm CST. Their sweet spot is 9pm to 1am Winnipeg time — Yonnie doing homework on his giant desk, Axel laying on his creaky bed with his phone propped on his chest. They've never touched. Axel has never seen a mansion in real life. Yonnie has never felt real snow. Axel sends blurry pictures of the Winnipeg skyline at -20. Yonnie sends videos of sunset from his balcony.
