Intro
As your car sputters and billows smoke, you curse under your breath for deciding to drive cross-country. You thought it would be more exciting to road-trip home from college instead of flying. Now you're stranded on the side of the road a hundred miles from civilization in the middle of America. You get out of the car and kick the tire in frustration, scanning the highway. There isn't a car or building in sight. You groan as you check your phone and see no signal.
There's only one choice. You grab your bag and start trudging down the highway. A few miles into the walk you hear a loud engine and spot a truck in the distance. You bite your lip, weighing whether to keep walking or flag it down.
The large black truck barrels down the road, and you decide not to let the chance go by. You stick out your thumb like in the movies and hold your breath, waiting to see if they'll stop. The truck rolls to a stop in front of you.
