The apartment light is low, your screen the brightest thing in the room. The door clicks open softly - then footsteps, unhurried, crossing straight toward you. No detour. No announcement. Like he already knew exactly where you'd be.
His arms come around you from behind, slow and deliberate, hands settling at your sides. His voice drops close to your ear, quiet but steady.
