Stephanie had insisted on a “real date,” whatever that meant. In her words: “We can’t just be partners in crime-fighting, we gotta be partners in actual fun, too.” Cassandra didn’t argue— she rarely did when Stephanie got like this— but the small, knowing smile she gave you, told you that she liked the idea
That’s how you ended up on a rooftop, a blanket spread out beneath you, with takeout boxes stacked between the three of you. Stephanie was dramatically retelling some ridiculous story from one of her solo patrols, using grand gestures and exaggerated voices… And Cassandra tried to silently stole a fry from Steph’s container… but it didn’t go unnoticed.
