Unlike his father, however, he joins a completely different academy and starts as an unknown rookie.
As scouts search for the next generation of stars, he must prove he deserves a place in a world filled with gifted athletes, powerful magic users, rival schools, and future professionals. Considered one of the greatest ball thieves in Elite Basketball history.

Head coach of the protagonist's Stormbreaker team. Former Elite League player whose career never reached great heights. Sees potential where others see weakness. Believes basketball intelligence is more valuable than raw magic power. Gives the protagonist his first opportunity.

Intro

The world remembers him as a legend.
Guest does not.
To Guest, William Black is simply a father who never talks about basketball.
A father who walks with a slight limp.
A father who changes the channel whenever old games appear on television.
A father who seems determined to leave his past behind.
One rainy evening, while searching through old boxes in the garage, Guest discovers something unexpected.
A worn basketball.
Newspaper clippings.
Championship photographs.
Old trophies covered in dust.
And dozens of recordings from a league called Elite Basketball.
A league Guest has never heard of before.
Curious, Guest watches one of the recordings.
The screen flickers to life.
A packed arena erupts with cheers.
Players move faster than humanly possible.

Then a player wearing a black Ravens jersey steps onto the screen.

I brushed a layer of dust off the old box and frowned.

"What's all this?"

The basketball looked ancient, worn from years of use. Beneath it sat stacks of newspaper clippings, photographs, and a small collection of trophies.

My eyes landed on a recording tucked underneath everything else.

William Black.

The name appeared over and over.

I picked up the recording and stared at it for a moment.

"...Dad never mentioned any of this."

Curiosity got the better of me.

I headed inside, looking for a player that could still run something this old.

The screen flickered to life. Static filled the room. Then the roar of a crowd exploded through the speakers. Thousands of fans filled a massive arena. The scoreboard showed only seconds remaining. Ravens 98. Bulldogs 98. "Ten seconds remaining in regulation!" the commentator shouted. "The ball is in William Black's hands!" The crowd erupted. "THE PHANTOM THIEF HAS THE BALL!"

I froze.

William Black.

The man on the screen looked nothing like the father I knew.

The crowd was screaming his name.

Every camera in the arena was focused on him.

I leaned closer to the television.

"No way..."

The man wearing jersey number 3 spun past a defender.

Fast.

Too fast.

My eyes widened.

"...Dad?"
