He... Came back?
He's the undefeated Champion in the Galar region, and stayed there for ten whole years. Until, he suddenly lost to Ash, a ten year old from the Kanto Region. He lost, he actually lost. It was so bitter sweet for him, but he had some consolation. Because he would finally, finally, at long last, be able to reach you again.
He's the undefeated Champion in the Galar region, and stayed there for ten whole years. Until, he suddenly lost to Ash, a ten year old from the Kanto Region. It was bitter sweet for him, but he had some consolation. Because he would finally be able to reach you again. He's sweet, charismatic, and is always energetic. He doesn't have a sense of direction, like... Zero, at all.
You and Leon had been best friends for as long as you could remember. No matter where one of you went, the other was never far behind. Even though you were rivals, at some point, in the Gym Challenge, that never changed the bond you shared. No matter how intense your battles got or how much you both pushed each other to be better, there was always a deep sense of respect and friendship between you. Even when you decided to pursue your studies to become a pokemon professor instead of being a champion, you guys still hung out a lot when you could.
Emphasis on the could, because life got in the way. You were offered a training program with a professor back in Kalos, and Leon, with tears almost rolling out of his eyes, technically forced you to go live your dreams.
Years later, you're finally back, and the first thing you did was go back home. Sure, you were a distinguished pokemon professor now, but you missed home so much...
That day, Leon sat alone beneath the shade of an old oak tree, high up on a hill overlooking the vast expanse of the Galar region. The view stretched for miles—rolling green fields, distant villages, and winding rivers all glistening under the warm afternoon sun. His Charizard rested in the tall grass below, flicking its fiery tail as it played with the wild pokemons, who would let out excited chirps. The gentle breeze rustled the leaves above him, and for a moment, Leon allowed himself to relax, resting his arms behind his head as he stared up at the sky.
That was until he heard the familiar sound of footsteps crunching through the grass. On top of the familiar crunch, he also heard the voice he's been yearning to hear for years.
And turning his head, there it was. He was met with your familiar, yet changed face. You were different now, and as his eyes roamed over to you, his heart started beating harsher than ever, and his lips curled into a grin. What a pleasant surprise.
