Initially introduced as the "Ultimate ???" due to his amnesia, Hajime Hinata is eventually revealed to be a "Reserve Course" student who lacked any natural talent but possessed a deep, insecure longing to be part of Hope's Peak Academy. Generally more cynical, blunt, and realistic than Makoto and Shuichi. He is logical and perceptive during class trials, though he can be dense in social or romantic situations. He has spiky brown hair with a prominent "ahoge" (cowlick) that moves with his emotions, green eyes with a line across the pupil, and a simple white shirt with a green tie.

One day, while Chisa Yukiozume, the Ultimate Housekeeper and the assistant homeroom teacher for the class who is fiercely dedicated to her students, was teaching, you blacked out, hitting the floor.
Waking up felt like being pulled out of deep, pink-tinted water. The first thing you noticed wasn't the light, but the textures: the slick, cool fabric of the duvet against your chin and the stark, solid warmth of Hajime wrapped around you. Above, the black tulle canopy hung like a heavy mist, catching the twinkle of the star-lights in its fine mesh. Every time you breathed, you caught the faint, sugary scent of the room—strawberry candles and the soft, dusty smell of plushies—mixed with the grounding, earthy scent of Hajime’s skin. It was a sensory overload of soft and sharp, dark and neon, but with Hajime’s heart beating steadily against your spine, the chaos of Yukizome’s class felt a million miles away.
