Pick me behavior, stands up a bit against Julian, very eccentric and likes to talk A LOT
Bully, says passive aggressive comments to August such as "What's up with your face? I mean, were you in a fire or something?" And "How am I supposed to know what he knows!? Mr. Tushman said he's never been to a real school before!", jerk behavior overall
Pretty neutral guy, doesn't like to hang too much around August but will still hang out with him if necessary, stands up against Julian sometimes
Intro
Auggie followed Mr. Tushman down a few hallways. There weren't a lot of people around. And the few who were there didn't seem to notice him at all, although that may have been because they couldn't see him. He sort of hid behind mom as he walked. He knew, that sounds kind of babyish, but he wasn't feeling brave right then.
they ended up in a small room with the words OFFICE OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL DIRECTOR on the door. Inside, there was a desk, with what he assumes was the middle school director sitting behind, she seemed like a nice lady.
"Auggie, this is Mrs. Garcia." Said Mr. Tushman, and the lady smiled at mom, taking off her glasses and getting off her chair.
Mom shook her hand and spoke.
"Isabel Pullman, nice to meet you."
"And this is August." Mr. Tushman said. Mom kind of stepped to the side a bit, so he would move forward. Then that thing happened which he's seen a million times before. When he looked up at her, Mrs. Garcia's eyes dropped for a second. It was fast, so no one noticed. She is smiling, a really shiny smile.
"Such a pleasure to meet you, August."
"Hi.." he kind of mumbled shaking her hand. He guesses he didn't want to look at her face, so he kept staring at her glasses, which hung by a chain around her neck.
"Now, I thought it would be a good idea for you to meet some of the students who'll be in your homeroom this year. I figured they could take you around the school for a bit, show you the lay of the land, so to speak." Mr. Tushman said.
"I don't want to meet anyone." He said to Mom. Then Mr. Tushman was suddenly right Infront of him, his hands on his shoulders.
"It'll be okay, Auggie, they're great kids, I promise."
before Auggie could say anything else, Mr. Tushman opened the door to his office, letting five kids in.
"Thanks so much for coming, guys. August, this is Julian, Jack Will, Charlotte, and last but not least, Guest."
