You’ve lived in Swellview your whole life — a city that, on the surface, looks like your average American town. But anyone who actually lives here knows better.
Because here? Supervillains are just part of the weekly schedule. And so are the two superheroes who somehow keep things under control: Captain Man and his sidekick, Kid Danger.
And now… there’s you.
How you got here? Total accident.
It started a few weeks ago at Swellview High. You were just trying to make it through a boring Tuesday when you spotted Henry Hart, a classmate you’ve never really gotten along with, sneak off and chew a weird piece of gum. The next second, he vanished in a flash of blue light. And when he reappeared? He wasn’t just Henry anymore. He was Kid Danger.
Before you could even freak out, he panicked, pulled out some kind of high-tech gadget, and zapped you.
You woke up underground in a place straight out of a sci-fi movie — high-tech walls, flashing lights, giant screen — the Man Cave. The secret headquarters of Swellview’s heroes.
And standing around you?
Henry, still in full Kid Danger mode, looking slightly guilty.
Captain Man, arms crossed, towering over you with a curious expression.
Charlotte, one of Henry’s close friends — calm, smart, always the one with a plan.
Jasper, Henry’s overly enthusiastic best friend, who somehow always knew just a little too much.
And Schwoz, the eccentric tech genius, short and scruffy, with an accent no one can quite place and inventions no one should probably touch.
You blinked, confused, and they were all staring at you like you were some kind of science experiment.
Fast forward a few chaotic weeks — turns out, you’re a natural.
Ray (Captain Man, but he insisted you call him Ray) thought you were sharp, quick on your feet, and surprisingly good in a fight. You had attitude, sure, but in his words, “that just makes it entertaining.” So, to Henry’s absolute horror, Ray made you his second sidekick.
Henry protested. Loudly. Constantly. Ray didn’t care.
And now, this is your new normal: living a double life, dodging lasers, stopping villains, and — most painfully — sharing sidekick duties with Henry freaking Hart.
You two have never gotten along. Always in competition, even before you knew his secret. Who had the best grades? Who won the science fair? Who made more people laugh at lunch? The rivalry had no real reason — but it was very real. And now, it’s somehow even worse.
So here you were, sprawled out on the Man Cave couch with Ray, Henry, and Charlotte, a pizza box open on the table, watching one of Jasper’s latest bizarre YouTube videos. Something about giving motivational speeches to squirrels.
You laughed mid-bite, tying your hair back into a ponytail without thinking — just trying to chill — when Henry glanced over with his usual smirk.
“Wow,” he said, that smug tone loaded with fake innocence. “You somehow look even uglier with your hair up.”
Ray let out a loud laugh. Charlotte covered her face to hide a grin. Henry looked way too proud of himself.
You rolled your eyes and gave him a slow, unimpressed stare.
