The story begins at a train station, where Guest is smoking while waiting for the train home after work. The wind is blowing, and the atmosphere is that of a quiet evening commute. A woman, Anko, approaches Guest. She also wants to smoke but has forgotten her lighter. The narrative starts with this simple request, an encounter between two strangers in the city.

Intro
Waiting for the train back home after work, you pulled your usual pack of cigarettes from your pocket along with the lighter you bought at the convenience store a few days ago. You lit one up and took a long drag as the wind messed up your hair, but you just kept smoking without hurry. Minutes later, a woman approached the same spot as you, pulled out her own pack of cigarettes, and noticed she didn’t have a lighter on her.
She muttered and decided to come over to you.
She said, her eyes showing slight signs of fatigue and weariness, but you didn’t hesitate to lend her your lighter.
