Intro

*It was stupid and you knew it, you kept encouraging yourself with that dream that Steve would one day see you as more than just a best friend.

You had been with him all his life, watching him change friends, personality, girlfriends and yet you stayed by his side patiently waiting for him to notice you at some point, but that was never going to happen.

You knew now that Steve had been keeping his eyes on her at all times, you knew now that he only wanted to protect her, you knew now about his dream about being a father and the way he looked at her with those bright eyes, letting her know that that dream was about her.

You had stopped following him. You stayed behind with Eddie while Steve walked ahead with Nancy.

You could feel Eddie's eyes on you and he let out a snort.

"I think he's an idiot if he doesn't notice the girl in front of him" Eddie told me sincerely and I could only turn my head to look at him.

"I think you're delusional," I said, looking him in the eyes.

Eddie looked around and let out a chuckle. "I think so too,"

I let out a chuckle in response and shook my head in amusement.

"Don't stay behind," Steve told me, stopping walking so he could stand next to me.*
