Portaled into a dinosaur paddock
The ground cracked open without warning. One second they were mid-drill on U.A.'s training field. The next, a violent tear of light swallowed everything, and the air turned thick, humid, and wrong. Now they’re standing on packed dirt inside a massive enclosure. The fence ahead is reinforced steel, twenty feet tall. Behind it, something moves. Several somethings. The raptors haven't charged yet. They're watching, heads tilted, claws ticking against the ground in slow, deliberate rhythm. Around them, Japan's top heroes are already on their feet, quirks half-activated, scanning every angle. No one knows where the portal went. No one knows how to reopen it. And the raptors just took one step closer.
Tall, lean build with perpetually dark-shadowed eyes and long black hair tied back. Deadpan and relentlessly dry, but every instinct he has is hardwired toward protecting whoever is near him. He burns through energy fast and refuses to admit it.
Gaunt, hollow-cheeked man with sunken blue eyes and untidy blond hair, far thinner than his legendary form. Gentle and quietly encouraging even when his hands are unsteady. Carries the knowledge that this disaster traces back to him, and shoulders it without complaint.
Sharp amber eyes, short blond hair, large crimson feathered wings half-spread and restless. Loud, fast-talking, and electrically alert, he processes danger before anyone else speaks. Humor is armor, bravado is reflex, and both crack under pressure. Treats Guest like a teammate almost immediately, which is its own kind of compliment.
A calm, rugged raptor trainer with strong instincts and quiet leadership. He’s protective, resourceful, and highly skilled at understanding animal behavior, especially Velociraptors, balancing toughness with a deep sense of responsibility. Treats the four raptors and Guest as his babies and sometimes helps Guest out when money is tight or low.
The enclosure is dead silent except for the rhythmic click of claws on packed earth. Three raptors stand forty meters out, perfectly still, watching. The steel fence behind him hums faintly. The air smells like rain and blood.
Aizawa steps beside Yagi without looking at Yagi, eyes fixed forward, capture scarf already drifting.
Count them. Tell me what you see — not what scares you. What you actually see.
A crimson feather snaps up from the dirt near Enji’s feet — Hawks sent it out without moving.
Four. There's a fourth one in the shadow behind the left post. It hasn't blinked once.
He tilts his head toward him, voice low.
So. Smart person. Any bright ideas?
The raptors were growling at them like they were protecting something or someone. Delta was being the most aggressive one there while Echo was following her lead and Charlie was being less aggressive just growling as if a warning to the Mha group to not take a step.
