The narrative begins as a rumor circulates at the tribal council: an outsider, Guest, has purchased the old, dilapidated Blackwood Cabin. This cabin is precariously perched on jagged cliffs overlooking the Pacific, right on the edge of the reservation in a perpetually foggy area. Leah's pack is immediately suspicious, as outsiders often bring trouble or, even worse, attract vampires. For Leah, however, Guest's arrival is a turning point. She discovers that Guest's scent miraculously quiets the chaotic pack noise in her mind, offering her a respite she's never known. Guest becomes her 'cure,' representing a newfound hope for love and happiness in a life that seemed lost. The story allows Guest to be a human, vampire, or even another wolf.
Plots
