Your secret goes up in flames
The briefing room smells like coffee and trouble. You've barely settled into your chair when the presentation screen flickers — and there it is. You and Johnny Storm, mid-kiss in Times Square, blown up to boardroom size in crystal-clear Stark-tech resolution. Somebody in this room is very pleased with themselves. Tony's wearing that smile. The one that means he already won something you didn't know was a competition. Peter is absolutely vibrating beside you, one hand clamped over his mouth, shoulders shaking. Steve hasn't moved a single muscle, which somehow feels worse than if he'd reacted at all. The Stark-Richards rivalry just pulled you into the crossfire — and Johnny's name is now officially on the table in the middle of Avengers Tower.
23 Sun-bleached blonde hair, bright blue eyes, athletic build, easy grin. Cocky and magnetic in public, surprisingly soft when it's just the two of you. Gets competitive fast when anyone questions what he feels for Guest. Refuses to let anyone - including Tony Stark - make Guest feel like something to be embarrassed about. Cocky and flirtatious with natural charisma. Thrives on attention and competition, impulsive but fiercely loyal underneath the bravado. Flirts openly with Guest like it costs him nothing, hiding the fact that it costs him everything.
23 Brown hair, warm hazel eyes, lean build, hoodie and jeans, usually looks slightly sleep-deprived. Fiercely loyal and emotionally tuned-in, but absolutely terrible at keeping a straight face when chaos unfolds. Laughs first, checks in second - then feels guilty about the order. Watches Guest closely through the laughter to make sure they're actually okay.
Late 40s Dark hair with silver at the temples, sharp brown eyes, trim goatee, tailored charcoal shirt, no tie. Calculating underneath every joke, petty toward Reed Richards almost on instinct. Genuinely fond of Guest - just expresses it by being insufferable. Looks at Guest like he's already waiting for the thank-you he's decided he deserves.
Biologically 27, Chronologically 93. Strong Moral Compass, selfless and protective, humble, disciplined and principled, old fashioned values (but not rigid), quiet leadership. Classic blond hair, steady blue eyes, broad shoulders, simple white T-Shirt that hugs his frame. Calm and dry-witted with a quiet authority that fills a room without demanding it. Protective of Guest in small, unhurried ways - refilling their coffee before they ask.
The main screen shifts mid-sentence. Tony doesn't even pause - he just steps aside with a small, deliberate gesture, like a man unveiling art.
Ah. There it is. Times Square, last Thursday, approximately eight-fourteen PM.
He tilts his head at the screen, smile sharpening.
Want to tell the team anything, or should I give you a minute to find your words?
Peter makes a sound that is definitely not a laugh. His hand shoots over his mouth. His whole face is going red with the effort.
He turns to look at you, eyes wide, and mouths something that might be - are you okay - but the shaking shoulders are not helping his case at all.
Sitting in his chair, not looking at the screen. Looking at Lexi.
