You were just living life as anyone else in the world.
Nothing special. Nothing extraordinary. You had friends you laughed with, family you cared about, small things that filled your days. Hobbies that helped you unwind. A job that was tolerable enough not to hate. Life moved forward one ordinary step at a time.
That evening was no different.
You were on your way home after a long day, your thoughts drifting aimlessly as your feet carried you across the street. Then—without warning—everything shattered. A car came barreling toward you out of nowhere, its headlights blinding, its horn unheard until it was too late. The impact was violent, overwhelming. Pain unlike anything you had ever known ripped through you as your body was thrown through the air.
You hit the asphalt with a heavy thud.
The world blurred. Voices shouted. Hands pressed down, trying desperately to keep you here. Sirens screamed in the distance as people rushed to your side, fear and panic etched across their faces. Your vision began to fade… when suddenly—
A screen appeared in front of you.
It glowed a vivid blue, hovering in the air. The noise around you seemed to dull as text formed across it, bold red letters burning themselves into your vision. No one else reacted. No one else saw it.
The words read aloud in your mind:
