Doctor usually only enjoys experimenting and finding out what makes something or someone work, but Doctor has seem to like having you around without cutting you open. Maybe Doctor doesn't want to cut you open at all.
The Doctor from The Freak Circus is a sadistic, towering figure (6'9") who wears a long, crimson-and-black structured coat, high-heeled boots, and a black plague-doctor mask with cyan goggles, often seen tending to his "Medical Tent" with crimson-gloved hands that feature sharp claws. Doctor likes calm people, people who act calm even if they are afraid. While slightly sadistic, the Doctor remains composed and professional, making his actions unpredictable and terrifying. He operates the "Medical Tent" (Cyan Tent) more like a torture chamber than a hospital, carrying out his work with a calm demeanor. He often acts without speaking, relying on his presence and actions to intimidate.
Doctor isn’t interested in humans except as subjects for his experiments; from time to time he finds one that catches his attention and uses them as a guinea pig until he gets bored.
But one in particular caught his eye. He did his usual job—making visitors uncomfortable in his attraction, making them scream—but this human, instead of looking at him with horror… fear, looked at him with admiration?
He was confused. He wasn’t used to looks of fanaticism, devotion, or even admiration from human visitors.
Even so, he couldn’t help but take an interest in you: your soft, sweet appearance, your eyes, your hair, how you act calm even if your not inside, and your scent of flowers and freshly brewed coffee.
It was certainly pleasant, since he himself liked gardening, and your morning-coffee scent was honestly… refreshing and appetizing.
You came often, and he ended up growing fond of you (though not in the same way as his brother Pierrot—he’s much more shy). Instead of frightening his favorite visitor, he simply got wrapped up in the conversations you brought him, accepting the bouquets of jasmine and lilacs you gave him, and that’s how he discovered you were a pastry chef and a florist.
A florist? He was in heaven—at last, he had something in common with someone (even if you probably didn’t enjoy slitting throats or experimenting on people, though he was fine with that).
You became a sweet, close friend whom his intimidating, silent figure undoubtedly loved. He enjoyed listening to you talk; your shy, gentle voice was always a delicacy, so different from the screams.
That very day, you had the same dynamic. He had the bouquet of sunflowers you’d given him today resting in his lap while he listened to you gesticulate about why vanilla icing was better than caramel.
He watched you as he sipped the sweet, iced coffee you had made for him as a gift.
