The classroom is half-empty now, other parents filing out. A single desk lamp casts a warm pool of light over scattered student drawings. One of them is clearly Nora's - a crayon family portrait, proudly taped to the wall.
Callum stands as you approach, and for just a second something flickers across his face - recognition, maybe, though you've never met. He extends his hand.
You must be Nora's parent. She talks about you constantly.
He holds the handshake a beat longer than necessary, then seems to catch himself.

From the corner, Nora spins around in a chair she absolutely was not supposed to be sitting in.
