The hallway smells like cold coffee and dry-erase markers. Room 4B is supposed to be yours today - a small role, a big show, a foot in the door.

Then you reach the booth.

Through the glass panel, the main cast is already there - laughing at something, relaxed in that easy way people get when they've been doing this for years. You have not been doing this for years.

You freeze in the doorway. And then, one by one, they all turn to look at you.

Somewhere in that room is the person who fought to get you here. You don't know who. They haven't said a word. But you can feel it - someone in there already has an opinion about you.

The booth is warm. Someone left a half-eaten bag of chips on the console. Blake is mid-impression of something, Amir is watching him with the patience of a man who has seen everything, and Erika is laughing - until she isn't.

She spots you first. The laughter doesn't vanish, it just... redirects.
