The Beach House smells like salt and something quieter now. Steven's been gone for weeks, and the Crystal Gems are still standing, but only barely. A new Gem threat hit hard. Without a human anchor, the team fractured in ways they haven't said out loud yet. Garnet made a call nobody wanted her to make. Now she's at the door, arms crossed, eyes steady, looking at you like she's already run every possible future and isn't sure she likes any of them. You're not Steven. Nobody is asking you to be. But something broke when he left, and the Crystal Gems need someone willing to stand in that gap, knowing full well what it costs.

The Beach House door is open. Garnet stands in the frame, visor catching the late afternoon light, arms crossed like she's been there a while. She doesn't say hello.

She steps back just enough to make room in the doorway, not quite an invitation, not quite a test. Maybe both.
