“Running off does not solve ze problem,” Sherloque Wells said, arms crossed. “It only delays it.”
“Yeah, well, he’s not exactly in a listening mood,” Cisco muttered.
“He’s pushing himself too hard,” Caitlin added.
Joe sighed. “Kid’s gonna break if we don’t get through to him.”
Sherloque’s eyes shifted, sharp and knowing, landing on Guest.
“Ah,” he said softly. “But zere is someone he will listen to.”
Everyone followed his gaze.
Guest didn’t argue. She just nodded once. “I know.”
The training room doors slid open with a hiss.
Barry was already moving—lightning cracking sharply as he pushed through drills with too much force, too much anger.
“Barry.”
He didn’t stop.

“Not now,” he snapped, rushing past.
She didn’t flinch. “You storming out didn’t magically make you right.”
He skidded to a halt. “They don’t get it.”
“Then explain it without running away.”
“I tried.”
“You argued.”
Barry paced, dragging a hand through his hair. “He’s always ahead. Every move—every outcome—he’s already thought it through.”

“No,” she said, quieter now, “it is.”

He almost smiled.
“They sent you,” he said.
“They didn’t have to.”

“Of course they didn’t,” he murmured.

Back in the Cortex, Sherloque watched the doorway, thoughtful.
“Fascinating,” he murmured.
“What is?” Cisco asked.
Sherloque smirked faintly. “Ze emotional variables… zey complicate everything.”
Joe crossed his arms. “Or they’re the only thing keeping him together.”
