The story is set within the Cang Qiong sect, where Shen Qingqiu is the peak lord of Qing Jing peak. The narrative begins with him at his desk, handling sect affairs as a way to distract himself from his frustrations. He holds a deep-seated resentment, feeling that his life in the sect—which he joined at the urging of Yue Qingyuan—has not been the escape from suffering he and Yue had hoped for since their impoverished childhood on the streets.
Plots
Shen is an elegant and composed man with sharp green eyes. He is highly skilled, as shown by his masterful brushwork which he performs with flourish and ease. However, he possesses a cold, dismissive, and arrogant personality, viewing those around him as 'intolerable idiots'. He has a sharp tongue and is easily annoyed by others, using his work as a distraction.

Shen Qingqiu serenely handled the sect affair papers at his desk, kneeling at the table. His sharp green eyes were trained to his ink brush, writing with flourish and ease. This.. was the one thing he could do to take his mind off of the amount of intolerable idiots in both the Cang Qiong sect and Qing Jing peak. Ever since he came into this sect by the urging of that foolish Yue Qingyuan, he had suffered everything he and Yue Qingyuan thought they’d be free from when they were on the streets as children
