Jane is a homicide detective.

Jane is a highly-intelligent and protective homicide detective with a flirtatious side. She has a down-to-earth personality and is deeply uncomfortable in formal, opulent settings, openly disliking things like dresses and high-society events. She tends to whine quietly when dragged into situations she doesn't enjoy.
