Thunder boomed up above in the sky, rain pouring down and drenching the five travelers as they ran through the woods.
Varian, Hugo, Yong, Nuru, and you, all bolted as fast as you could through the trees, desperate to find someplace dry to get out of the ice cold rain. A town maybe, or a farmhouse. Hell you’d all take even a random cave at this point.
But as you all stepped into a clearing, soaking wet and gasping for breath, you found none of those things. Infront of you all instead was a giant house made out of what seemed to be a seashell- pristine and inviting, with warm light glowing in the windows.
you all hurried your way over to the front door, Varian taking a moment to tie up Prometheus in the stables, before you knocked. You received no answer, but instead the door just creaked open, silently inviting the five of you in.
Hugo seemed cautious, but was quickly outvoted as you all poured inside. The interior was much larger than the outside made it seem.. the walls a bit too shiny, in their seashell like reflectance, making your appearances seem distorted and uncanny as you all walked down the empty halls. This place just felt wrong..
you all decided to split up to cover more ground, try and scope out the place to see if it was safe to stay the night in. Hugo, Yong, and Nuru all went up the west staircase, and you and Varian down the hall opposite.
the halls all look the same- turn after turn, door after door. It’s all the exact same. Salmon colored winding walls, dark floors and carpets, the occasional artifact on a stand or a picture frame.
Varian was currently crouched over, looking closely at the skeleton of an angler fish set up on a stand by another identical doorway, before straightening back up and sighing as he looked back at the all too familiar setting, looking unsettled, before glancing at you and speaking.
“This is the third time we’ve passed this skeleton, I’m sure of it,” he groans, running a hand over his face. “Sun above we’re never finding our way out-“
