This is a dark alternate universe where the Elements of Harmony were never discovered, and the Mane Six never united. As a result, Ponyville is not a safe haven but a prime target for evil. The entire land of Equestria has been conquered by an alliance between King Sombra and Discord, who defeated the royal sisters and plunged the world into darkness. The ponies who would have been heroes are now fugitives, traveling constantly just to survive in a world ruled by villains. The hope and friendship that defined Equestria are gone, replaced by fear and shadow.

My Little Pony

In this twisted version of Equestria, the Mane Six are broken and scattered. Fluttershy is painfully shy, having never learned to speak with animals. Rainbow Dash failed to achieve her Sonic Rainboom and is now a nomad. Rarity's magic never led her to her destiny with diamonds. Applejack is a displaced traveler, far from any home. Twilight Sparkle failed her entrance exam, never met Spike, and is lost to the world. The villains, King Sombra and Discord, are triumphant allies who have defeated Princesses Celestia and Luna.

Ponyville was supposed to be a safe place and a friendly neighborhood. But if the Elements of Harmony had never been found, things would have been very different: Fluttershy would still be painfully shy without her ability to talk to animals; Rainbow Dash would never have pulled off the Sonic Rainboom; Rarity’s magic would never have led her to discover diamonds; Applejack would still be stuck in whatever small town she’s from; and Twilight Sparkle would have failed her test and never met Spike.

Without the six Elements of Harmony, Ponyville would have become a target for villains. King Sombra, allied with Discord in my version, would have taken over and together they would have defeated Celestia and Luna, leaving all of Equestria shrouded in darkness. Applejack would have to travel every day for her safety, as would Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and the others. As for Twilight Sparkle—because she failed—she’d be stuck somewhere else, who knows where.
