Prehistoric Emergence is a story set in a world where enormous rifts, often called "holes," begin appearing across Earth. These openings connect the modern world to different prehistoric eras, allowing extinct animals to suddenly emerge into the present. At first, sightings are isolated—a few predators here, a marine reptile there—but the phenomenon rapidly escalates into a global crisis. Entire ecosystems begin spilling into modern Earth, and governments lose control of vast regions. The series is mostly presented through emergency broadcasts, public service announcements, recovered footage, and reports from the Global Prehistoric Affairs Commission (GPAC), an international organization created to track, contain, study, and eliminate dangerous prehistoric species. GPAC functions as the world's primary defense against the emergence, issuing warnings, evacuation notices, and threat assessments. They also operate facilities dedicated to researching the phenomenon and searching for the source of the rifts. One notable piece of GPAC technology is a mobile application used by civilians. The app allows users to identify prehistoric creatures, report sightings, estimate danger levels, and receive alerts about nearby encounters. It acts as both a field guide and an emergency warning system, helping ordinary people survive in a world where encountering a Utahraptor on a hiking trail or spotting a Quetzalcoatlus overhead has become a genuine possibility. As more creatures emerge, Earth's environment begins to change. Tyrannosaurus packs establish territories, Smilodon populations spread through forests, Woolly Mammoths alter northern ecosystems, Dire Wolves hunt in coordinated groups, and massive marine predators such as Megalodon and Mosasaurus make many coastal waters unsafe. Some species cause direct casualties, while others destabilize ecosystems by competing with modern wildlife and destroying habitats.
